F1 Academy recently wrapped up its third season. Now, with a few years under its belt, F1 Academy already has a number of graduates. Each of them have gone off to further their motorsport careers in a number of different arenas. So who are these drivers, where are they now and what are they doing? Following the season finale in Las Vegas, let’s take a look in this first part of a three part series.
Marta Garcia
Marta Garcia will already be a very familiar name to most reading this. The 25 year old Spaniard often times comes across as someone who’s been around for a lot longer than she actually has been, such is the breadth and depth of her career so far. For many, Marta will be known to them for her time in W Series. She competed in the series for three seasons, with a best overall Championship finish of P4. This came with one win, two pole positions and a further three podiums.
In 2023, F1 Academy’s inaugural year, it was inevitable that Marta Garcia would race in the series. Driving for PREMA, Garcia put all of her experience to date to use and went on to dominate.
She achieved seven race wins from the twenty-one races in 2023. On top of that, she scored five additional podiums, five pole positions and six fastest laps. Moreover, Marta only had one DNF and in all of the other races and had zero non top ten finishes. Her lowest finishing result was P7. This only happened once in the second race at the opening round of the season at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Garcia finished P1 in the Championship by the end of the year with 278 Points. She was 56 points clear of Lena Buhler in P2.
Post F1 Academy
After winning in F1 Academy, Garcia moved over to the Formula Regional European Championship. Here she raced with Iron Dames in 2024. At the same time, she competed in the Ligier European Series for four races, also with Iron Dames. Marta made her mark though as she notched up two wins in this series in Spa and Portugal respectively.
In 2025, Marta teamed up once again with Iron Dames to compete in the Le Man Cup GT3. She finished in P4 overall with a podium finish in Spa on her comeback, following her nasty crash in Spain, and a victory in Silverstone. Considering the massive shunt she had in Barcelona and that she had to miss racing at Le Mans due to her teammate being injured, it’s pretty impressive.
Marta also made her Formula E debut back in 2024, taking part in the rookie test with ERT. Later that year, she tested with Porsche in the pre-season women’s test. This year, she switched teams again, partnering with Lola Yamaha ABT in this year’s pre-season women’s test. We’ll continue to watch her career with great interest.
Amna Al Qubaisi
One half of the dynamic duo that is the Al Qubaisi sisters, Amna is the slightly older and understated of the two. Joining F1 Academy in 2023, Amna put her mark on the series almost immediately. Her first of two wins that year came in only the second race of the season at the Red Bull Ring.
Amna’s second win of the year then came at the second race in Barcelona two rounds later. Two additional podiums in Austria and Le Castellet followed. Like Marta Garcia, Amna only suffered from one DNF in 2023. She finished outside the top ten once which came in the penultimate race of the season in Austin, Texas. But this only happened after fellow F1 Academy driver Lola Lovinfosse made contact with her during the race. She finished P6 overall in the Championship.
In 2024, Amna’s season was plagued with bad luck and a lack of positive momentum. Supported by Racing Bulls, Amna could only muster four top ten finishes, all of which were P8s. Despite this, she only DNFd once at the first race in Barcelona and was near the points on several occasions. But a tight field with a plethora of new drivers meant that someone had to lose out. Unfortunately for Amna, one of those people was her. She finished the season in P15 overall.
Post F1 Academy
Amna has thankfully bounced back since then, proving once again that she is the driver that many know her to be. In 2025, she competed in the Ligier European Series JS P4 with Team Virage. It was a unique situation as her sister, Hamda, was also racing with her as her teammate. Where one sister is, the other is usually never far away.
Amna finished in P4 overall in the Championship. This is thanks in part to a podium she achieved with a P3 result in Barcelona, as well as another one in Spa and another in Silverstone. She also claimed two P4s in Le Castellet. But a DNF in Portugal threw a spanner into the works and the team would finish the year just eleven points behind P3.
Nerea Marti
Another driver heralding from the time of W Series, Nerea Marti is perhaps the most underrated driver that there’s been in F1 Academy. The Spanish driver appears to have really taken to the motto “consistency is key” for her to achieve success in the world of motorsport.
In 2023, Nerea won one race at the first of three to take place in Le Castellet. Five additional podiums throughout the season were the first sign of her consistent nature. Trouble rarely found her and when it did, it was in isolation. Marti had one non-points finish at the first race in Monza and a DSQ at the opening race in Austria. She also had an NC result at the second race in Valencia. Despite these setbacks, Nerea finished in P4 overall in 2023 with 181 Points.
While victory alluded her in 2024 and she scored less points overall, Nerea’s consistency proved to be vital yet again. With four podiums and one non-points finish, the Spaniard finished again in P4 overall with 136 points. Marti was also supported by Tommy Hilfiger in 2024 which gave everyone one of their favourite race suit and car liveries in all of motorsport – something that was thankfully continued when Hilfiger supported Alba Larsen in 2025. With marketing and sponsorship always key in racing, looking iconic can go a long way.
Post F1 Academy
In 2025, Nerea moved across to Endurance Racing. Part of the BMW M Racing Academy and racing for BMW España, Nerea has been competing in the Supercars Endurance Championship. She competed in the series last year too where she got onto the podium three times. This year, Nerea’s already gone one better by winning a race at Jarama. Nerea then went on to win in Valencia too and would finish the season in P5 overall in the GT4 Pro Class. Just six points stood between her and third place.
As if that wasn’t enough, Nerea also stepped into the E1 Series with Team Alula for the final two rounds of the year. She went on to test with Andretti in the Formula E pre-season women’s test too, having tested with them in 2024 too.
At just twenty-three years old, there is an quietly awesome amount of potential here with Nerea and hopefully we get to see her progress further up the motorsport ladder soon.
Bianca Bustamante

Hailing from the Philippines, it’s fair to say that since she entered the world of motorsport, Bianca Bustamante has nailed her off track presence. A social media natural, Bianca quickly built up a large and supportive fanbase around the world. From the front covers of magazines to appearing on talk shows, she’s blended together both parts of the modern motorsport world with apparent ease.
Like many others, Bianca first came onto the radar for a lot of people when she went racing in W Series. But it was to be F1 Academy where more people began to take notice of her.
F1 Academy
Similar to Nerea Marti, Bianca had two consistent years in F1 Academy in terms of overall finishing position. But the tales of her two seasons are very different from one another. In 2023, Bianca notched up two wins in Valencia and Monza respectively. Two additional podiums accompanied these, both P2s, also at Monza and at the first race of the year in Austria. She did however suffer from six non-point finishes along with one DNF in Monza and a non classification in Austria. Bianca finished the year in P7.
P7 would be where Bianca would finish again in 2024. This time however, it would be with 43 less points than in 2023. Supported by McLaren, a race win alluded her all year. Instead, she had to settle for a highest result of P2 that came in Miami’s second race. Six non-point finishes, five of which came in a row, hampered her season and proved to be difficult for her to shake off.
Post F1 Academy

With a string of disappointing results, many, Bianca included, were unsure of where she would land in 2025. However, she and her team were able to rally, now without the backing of McLaren, and Bianca found a home in the UK. In 2025, Bianca has been competing in the GB3 Championship with Elite Motorsport. Bianca scored points in seventeen of the twenty-four races and finished in P22 overall. She has also been signed up as a development driver in Formula E with Cupra Kiro. The first major duty she had to undergo for the team was representing them at their rookie test in Berlin and then again in the pre-season women’s test in Valencia.
Maite Cáceres

Another of F1 Academy’s graduates is Uruguay’s Maite Cáceres. The South American Driver entered F1 Academy in 2023 and was one of the more inexperienced single seater drivers to take to the track that year. While this did present her with a challenging learning curve, it also proved the measurable benefits of F1 Academy and her results on the track don’t tell the full story.
F1 Academy
In her rookie season, Maite achieved three top ten finishes. The highest of these results was P8 which she achieved twice; first in the second race at Monza and then again at the opening race in Le Castellet.
While Maite finished in P15 overall, most of the time, she wasn’t far away from scoring points. The progression came as the year when on and when she did score points, you could visibly see how much it meant to both her and those around her.
Crucially too, Maite has a second season of F1 Academy available to her in the future. As it stands, only Megan Gilkes and Chloe Grant are holding out as long as she is before making her return. But with Gilkes having hung her helmet up to go and work behind the scenes at Aston Martin, we’ll have to see who returns first out of Grant and Cáceres.
Post F1 Academy
In 2024, Maite competed in the Ligier JS F4 Series. By the end of the season, the Uruguayan Lioness had finished in P3 overall. She had five podium finishes to her name and a highest result of P2 in Louisiana. Already, she was putting to work what she had learnt the previous year in F1 Academy.
This year, Maite has switched things up a bit. She’s been competing in the Mazda MX-5 Cup with Rafa Racing in America. She finished in P27 overall out of 43 with a highest finish of P11 at St. Petersburg. Will 2026 see her continue to race in this Championship or will she return to F1 Academy? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Carrie Schreiner

German driver Carrie Schreiner is another of F1 Academy’s graduates. Having come from a more endurance and sports car racing background, it wasn’t clear how her experience there would translate into the world of single seaters. But across her two seasons in the series, Carrie improved in her overall finishing position in the Championship and the areas where she improved are clear to see.
F1 Academy
In Carrie’s first season in F1 Academy, she built up a steady account of points, regularly finishing inside the top ten. The majority of her eight non-point finishes came at the start of the season, as did the first of her two DNFs. At the fourth round of the season though, Carrie was able to capitalize on everything that she had learned and claimed victory in the second race at Zandvoort.
In the remaining ten races of 2023, she finished in the points on six occasions. At the end of year, Carrie was in P11 overall with 56 Points.
By the end of the 2024 season, Carrie had climbed up two positions to finish in P9 overall with 34 points. She had a highest finish of P6 which she achieved twice in Zandvoort and Abu Dhabi. While the podium alluded her, Carrie’s consistent point scoring kept her solidly in the mid pack of the F1 Academy field. Being in and amongst it like this enabled her to take advantage of the situation should anything precarious happen to the leaders out in front.
Finally, only one DNF for her that year re-enforced this notion and showed that she was good at keeping out of trouble, regardless of where on track it happened.
Post F1 Academy
In 2024, Carrie was backed by the Kick Sauber Formula 1 team. Upon leaving F1 Academy, Sauber have kept her on as an ambassador for the team. Racing wise in 2025, Carrie’s competed in the GT Winter Series, where she was immediately back on the podium in at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. She’s also been racing in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie with Girls Only by WS Racing. What’s more, she’s returned to the ADAC GT Masters Championship where she’s been racing in an Audi R8 LM GT3 Evo2 with Land Motorsport.
It’s been a mixed bag for Carrie results wise with a combination on track incidents, technical mishaps and bad luck, but with some solid results and lots of testing and solid pace in qualifying sessions across the board. That’s motorsport for you. Endurance and Sports Car racing seems to where it’s at for Carrie for the time being. Who knows, maybe we’ll see her in ELMS soon too.
Chloe Grant
F1 Academy
Chloe Grant had a dramatic debut year in F1 Academy. She scored points in six of the first eight races that year with a highest result of P4 in Valencia. It looked like the Scottish driver could be solidly in the mix when it came to the Championship. But a bout of bad luck followed with three consectuve non-points finishes and a dramatic DNF that would turn her season upside down, quite literally.
A rollover crash at Monza resulted in Chloe having to miss the next two races of that weekend. When she returned at the next round in France, she was able to score a point immediately. But in the remaining five races that year, Chloe would only score points on one more occasion – at the season finale in Austin.
She finished the year in P12 overall with 34 points. Like Maite, Chloe also has a second season available to her as she didn’t return in 2024 or 2025.
Post F1 Academy
In 2024, Chloe switched over to the GB4 Championship with KMR Sport. She finished the year in P8 overall with 208 points and a podium in Oulton Park’s third race where she finished in P2.
Current F1 Academy driver Alisha Palmowski also competed alongside her that year too. She finished in P2 that year in the Championship with 422 points, 45 points away from P1 with 3 wins and a further nine podiums to her name.
In 2025, Chloe has been competing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica with the Monterios Racing Team.
